London truly has some of the very best hotels in the world, so why not take advantage of that, and have your very own wedding in one of them. I’ve been a London wedding photographer since 2010, so you can imagine I’ve experienced a fair few London hotel weddings in my time. To help make your decision, I’ve decided to compile a list that focuses on quality over quantity, as I run down the best 5 hotel wedding venues London has to offer. As an added bonus, these are all London hotels that I’ve actually photographed in before, so I can testify that they are indeed absolute quality!

Starting the list off has to be Claridges. Listed as the ‘first hotel in London’ back in 1878, Claridges has become world-renowned, hosting Royal banquets, state visits, and celebrity parties during its long illustrious history. Located in the heart of Mayfair, Claridges offers a variety of ceremony/reception options; from the traditional Drawing Room, right through to the elegant Art Deco Ballroom. There really is nothing else like Claridges in London.

Moving away from central London hotels, and into the East end of London, the Town Hall Hotel is a stunningly restored old Town Hall, and one of the most beautiful wedding venues in London. There is an Art Deco vibe that hits you from the very moment you walk in, and which follows you throughout the building, right into the old council chamber where the wedding ceremonies take place. One of the great things about the Town Hall Hotel is that it’s a one stop shop for the whole wedding, with ample accommodation on site, plus use of a number of rooms to host the wedding ceremony and reception.

For something completely different, and with arguably the best views across London of any wedding venue I know of, Shangri-La at The Shard is a cert for my top 5. This a wedding venue that unashamedly plays with that wow factor, with sweeping views across London for the marriage ceremony and reception. Expect plenty of selfies from your guests!

Stylish, sophisticated cool springs to mind when I think of the Ham Yard Hotel. Based just off Piccadilly Circus, this unique London hotel wedding venue offers a roof garden with fantastic vistas of the surrounding West End, and perfect for the wedding ceremony. For some reception based entertainment, there’s a bowling alley downstairs, plus a retro-style cinema - a perfect setting for some unusual Bride and Groom portraits!

For couples seeking one of the best hotel wedding venues in London, art’otel London, Battersea Power Station offers a striking blend of contemporary design, bold artwork, and riverside elegance. Situated in the vibrant Battersea Power Station neighbourhood, the boutique hotel features flexible ceremony and reception spaces, including a rooftop area with panoramic views of the iconic chimneys and the London skyline, perfect for unforgettable wedding photos. With on-site accommodation, leisure facilities, and suites designed by Jaime Hayon, the venue is ideal for both intimate gatherings and larger parties, offering a modern, sophisticated, and entirely memorable wedding experience.
I’ve got to end this list with a cracker, so it has to be The Savoy. This legendary, luxurious, 5 star hotel wedding venue has been attracting the rich and famous throughout its 130 year history, and shows no signs of slowing down. What makes The Savoy so unique, are the vast array of rooms that cater for different types of weddings, such as the Abraham Lincoln Room, River Rooms, and The Lancaster Ballroom. All of these grand rooms are beautifully decorated, but also provide enough space for you to customise and create a wedding to remember.
My style is all about capturing beautiful, unscripted moments at weddings that are big or small. It’s something I’ve loved doing since I began my wedding photography business in 2010, and I get a tremendous buzz from creating distinctly unique imagery that is artistic and full of emotion.
