Few places capture London’s skyline like The Shard. Sitting 34 floors up, the Shangri-La Hotel offers a backdrop that’s nothing short of spectacular. Floor-to-ceiling windows give you a panoramic sweep across the Thames, St Paul’s, and all across London.

Why it’s great:
If you want your wedding to feel like an urban escape, Sky Garden is the perfect mix of city and sanctuary. Sitting at the top of the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building, it’s London’s highest public garden - and it’s as special as it sounds.
The space is filled with tropical plants and leafy walkways. Then there are the views: sweeping across the Thames and beyond, with iconic landmarks in every direction. Morning is crisp and clear. Right on the South Bank, Oxo Tower Restaurant combines riverside charm with a sense of London history. The building itself is iconic, but it’s the terrace and restaurant views that make it a wedding favourite.

A world away from skyscrapers and glass towers, Trinity Buoy Wharf offers something rawer, edgier, and full of character. Set on the river where the Thames meets the River Lea, it has a stripped-back, industrial aesthetic that’s incredibly photogenic.

Why it’s great:
If you’re willing to step just outside of London, Monkey Island Estate offers a view like no other - because it’s on its very own private island. Located in Bray, it feels like a proper retreat while still being within easy reach of the city.
Ceremonies can take place overlooking the Thames, drinks spill out onto manicured lawns, and during the reception, couples and guests can enjoy a scenic river boat cruise along the Thames, taking in the surroundings from the water. Overlooking the redeveloped Battersea Power Station, art’otel London Battersea brings together modern design, bold colour, and one of the most striking urban views in the city. From its rooftop spaces, you get a front-row look at the Power Station’s iconic chimneys, the curve of the Thames, and the new Battersea skyline - an outlook that feels fresh, energising, and unmistakably London.

Why it’s great:
Set right on the banks of the Thames in Greenwich, Trafalgar Tavern has one of those views that feels unmistakably London without needing to be high above the city. This Grade II listed riverside pub looks out across the water, with the Old Royal Naval College just nearby and the river constantly shifting in the background. Inside, there’s plenty of period character - tall windows, chandeliers, wooden floors and elegant private rooms - but it’s the setting that really makes it special.
