Luxury Wedding Venues in London

Luxury Wedding Venues

London has few rivals when it comes to hosting a luxurious and unforgettable wedding, with a truly amazing array of stunning venues to pick from, from historical landmarks to modern architectural wonders. As a London wedding photographer I’ve been capturing weddings for over a decade now, and I thought it would be incredibly helpful to compile a list of my favourite luxury wedding venues in London that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. So let’s dive right in…

1. Claridges

Located in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge’s is a legendary five-star hotel renowned for its glamour and sophistication. From the moment you walk in, the stunning art deco interiors transport you to another time, and with a number of luxurious ballrooms to choose from, Claridge’s provides an enchanting backdrop for an intimate ceremony or a grand reception. I’ve photographed here a number of times over the years, and I would say it is in its element during the winter/Christmas period. Claridges Wedding Photographer

2. The Savoy

Standing proudly on the banks of the River Thames, The Savoy is an iconic hotel that has been hosting the rich and famous throughout its 130+ year history. This is another wedding venue that exudes charm and sophistication, and benefits from a number of top quality rooms to choose from, such as the Lancaster Ballroom and the River Room, all with breathtaking views of the Thames. 3. The Shard

For a wedding with a contemporary twist and unrivalled panoramic views, look no further than Shangri-La at The Shard. Located in Western Europe’s tallest building, Shangri-La at The Shard offers something not many wedding venues in London can offer - floor-to-ceiling windows with the very best views of London, and a wedding backdrop like no other. Just be prepared for a lot of selfies with your guests! The Shard Wedding Photographer

4. Kew Gardens

f you prefer a wedding surrounded by natural beauty, Kew Gardens is the perfect choice. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts the most beautiful gardens, iconic conservatories, and historic buildings that provide a romantic and picturesque setting for your wedding day. Kew Gardens offers a variety of venues to suit different wedding styles, making it a versatile and unforgettable location - plus there are not many wedding venues where you can have your reception in a rainforest (the Princess of Wales Conservatory)!. 5. The Queen’s House

For couples looking for a wedding venue with a touch of regal charm, the Queen’s House in Greenwich is a perfect choice. For me, there are so many selling points to this venue - the beautiful cloisters (fantastic setting for the ceremony, reception drinks, or Bride and Groom portraits), the backdrop of Greenwich park and the Royal Observatory on the hill, The Great Hall with its stunning black-and-white marble floor, and piece de la resistance - the incredible Tulip staircase. 6. RSA House

Located just a stone’s throw away from the River Thames, RSA House is a Georgian townhouse that offers a blend of historic charm and contemporary style. It is also the winner of the ‘Most Versatile London Venue’ award, and it’s not hard to see why, with a number of visually beautiful yet entirely different rooms to choose from. The Great Room offers a very impressive 18th Century painting that wraps around the entire high-ceilinged room, the Benjamin Franklin room is an elegant space with a modern twist, and the subterranean Vaults is a series of four inter-connecting spaces with original exposed brickwork as a rustic feature. 7. 116 Pall Mall

For a wedding that oozes grandeur and sophistication, 116 Pall Mall (or the Institute of Directors) is a spectacular choice. Designed by renowned architect John Nash, this Grade I listed building has the wow factor, with the magnificent sweeping staircase and the incredible 15ft Regency chandelier greeting guests as soon as they walk in. There are also a range of luxurious, grand rooms that can accommodate both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations, as well as St James’ Park a short walk away for the perfect couple shoot backdrop. 116 Pall Mall Wedding Photographer

8. Winchester House

Nestled on the banks of the River Thames in Putney, Winchester House exudes timeless elegance, making it a quintessential choice for a luxury wedding venue in London. This Grade II listed building, dating back to the early 17th century, offers a blend of historic charm and modern sophistication. The venue features a grand ballroom bathed in natural light, providing an exquisite setting for ceremonies and receptions. Outside, the expansive private gardens present a serene backdrop for alfresco celebrations, with panoramic views of the Thames enhancing the romantic ambiance. Winchester House Wedding Photographer

ABOUT ME

My style is all about capturing beautiful, unscripted moments at weddings that are big or small. It’s something I’ve loved doing since I began my wedding photography business in 2010, and I get a tremendous buzz from creating distinctly unique imagery that is artistic and full of emotion.
