10 Unique London Wedding Venues

Having been a London wedding photographer since 2010, I’ve seen a fair few unique London wedding venues over the years. So I thought I would put my experience to good use, and compile a list of some the best unique wedding venues London has to offer, but importantly ones I’ve photographed at and that I know to be absolutely amazing.

1. Wilton’s Music Hall, Shadwell

Wilton’s Music Hall is a venue like no other. I remember seeing a fellow wedding photographer’s post on the wedding he photographed there, and being completely blown away, and slightly jealous! Wilton’s Music Hall is one of the few surviving music hall’s in the country, and still acts as a fully functional theatre. Which means you get to have the wedding ceremony on the stage, surrounded by moody lighting and crumbling 19th Century paintwork. I’d say that’s pretty unique! 2. Trinity Buoy Wharf, Poplar

Trinity Buoy Wharf has to be one of the most popular DIY, empty canvas style wedding venues in London, and for good reason. Firstly, the location - set in London’s famous docklands, Trinity Buoy Wharf has amazing views across the River Thames, with the o2 acting as a stunning backdrop. Plus there aren’t many London wedding venues where you can pitch up in a boat! But the jewel in the crown has to be The Chainstore, an historic Grade II listed brick building with triple height ceiling and plenty of character. Trinity Buoy Wharf Wedding Photographer

3. Town Hall Hotel, Bethnal Green

Want to get married in an Art Deco former council chamber? Tucked away on a side street in East London, the Town Hall Hotel is a stunningly restored old Town Hall, and one of the most beautiful, unusual wedding venues in London. Art Deco vibes hit you from the very moment you walk in, and one of the things I love about it is that it’s a one stop shop for the whole wedding, with accommodation on site, as well as the use of a number of rooms to host the wedding ceremony and reception. 4. West Reservoir Centre, Hackney

Originally built as a filter house on the side of the reservoir, the West Reservoir Centre is considered one of the most unusual wedding venues in London. From the moment you step inside the brilliantly restored Tower Room, you’re hit with all that exposed metalwork and high ceilings, providing a truly unique feel to it. 5. The Queen’s House, Greenwich

Want to arrive in style? The Queen’s House has to have one of the most epic entrances you can imagine, driving by all the weekend gatherers in Greenwich Park, with the Royal Observatory up on the hill in the distance. This a Grade II listed former Royal residence in Greenwich, so you can imagine the grandeur of the building. 6. Shangri-La at The Shard, London Bridge

For me, this view cannot be bettered at any other London wedding venue, and for that reason The Shangri-La at The Shard has to be one of my top choices. This a wedding venue that definitely has that wow factor, with sweeping views across London whilst the marriage ceremony is carried out, and beyond. Expect your guests to be amazed! Not only is the Hawksmoor my favourite steak restaurant, it’s also my one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph at. Set in the heart of the city, this underground wedding venue serves up spectacular cocktails, delicious food, and a very late licence to boot. Plus they have an amazing team that really go out of their way to look after you. Also, an added bonus is the Guildhall is a minutes walk away, which has been a great location for Bride and Groom photos. Hawksmoor Wedding Photographer

7. Claridges, Mayfair

Listed as the ‘first hotel in London’ back in 1878, Claridges has become a by-word for wedding luxury, having hosted large Royal banquets and state visits. From the moment you step into it’s Art Deco foyer, you’re hit by the history and glamour of this landmark building. What I love about Claridges are the variety of ceremony/reception options on offer; from the elegant Art Deco Ballroom, right through to the traditional Drawing Room. 8. Kew Gardens, Kew

I have to admit I was completely blown away when I first photographed at Kew Gardens. Firstly, the Nash Conservatory is an outstanding location for a wedding ceremony. When you follow that up with a wedding reception in rainforest (the Princess of Wales Conservatory) and a wedding breakfast in the atmospheric The Orangery, it really is something very special. 9. The Union Club, Soho

Tucked away in the middle of Soho, The Union Club is one of those places that really surprises you. From the outside, it looks like a classic Georgian townhouse - but step inside and it’s full of character, with art covering the walls and that slightly offbeat charm that makes it feel properly lived in. I’ve always loved shooting here. The different rooms - from the Drawing Room to the Dining Room - all have their own feel, and there’s no shortage of interesting corners for photos. 10. Sky Garden

Sky Garden is one of those places that really makes you stop and take it all in. Sitting right at the top of 20 Fenchurch Street, it’s a garden in the sky - literally - with 360° views over London and greenery everywhere you look. Photographing weddings here always feels a bit surreal (in the best way). One minute you’re surrounded by tropical plants, the next you’re watching the sun set over the city skyline. Whether it’s a ceremony tucked among the foliage or dancing with all your favourite people high above the streets, it’s a pretty unforgettable place to get married. Sky Garden Wedding Photographer

11. art’otel London, Battersea

Set beside the iconic chimneys of Battersea Power Station, art’otel London Battersea offers a bold, contemporary setting with some of the most striking rooftop views in the city. This design-led hotel blends modern architecture with an unmistakable sense of creativity, making it ideal for couples drawn to something stylish and a little different. The rooftop spaces are the real highlight, with views stretching across the Thames and the evolving Battersea skyline, creating a backdrop that feels dynamic by day and beautifully atmospheric as the light fades. Inside, the interiors are playful yet polished, with colourful artwork, clean lines, and thoughtfully designed spaces that bring energy without overpowering the day. It’s a venue that feels fresh, confident, and distinctly London - perfect for couples wanting a wedding that reflects the city’s modern edge.
