Wedding season has finally kicked off, and before things get too crazy, I thought I’d pop up and share a wedding I shot back in March at the super minimalist and quietly beautiful Aswarby Rectory, in Lincolnshire. It was for the wedding of Florence and Callum, two lovely people, who chose a wedding venue that was the perfect setting for the vibe they were going for - more on that in a bit.

So whilst I predominantly work in London, I do love travelling and seeing what the rest of the country has to offer. It provides an opportunity to get out into the countryside, breathe clean, fresh air, and be inspired by an entirely new setting. Now from the quick google search I did before the wedding, I could tell that my creative senses would be firing off big time on the day. Aswarby Rectory was built in the early 1800s and was beautifully renovated to become a wedding venue in 2018. There’s something about that lush, rustic ceremony room, with its big white walls, open fireplace, and wooden benches, bathed in the natural light from outside, that makes taking pictures there such a joy. And don’t get me started on the dining room and surrounding woodland and walled garden!

Also, on a personal level, it was a great wedding to start my wedding season with - very relaxed, and fairly low-key, with only a key selection of family and friends in attendance. Having said that, it did manage a complete 180 and went full throttle once the sun went down (like most weddings over the past year!)! Big props to DJ Paul, from The Wedding Jam, who judged the vibe of the crowd perfectly, and knew exactly what to play to get it going, and even went full DnB at one point! I’m not gonna lie, I stayed past my bed time on this one…
