If you’re planning your wedding at Trafalgar Tavern and are looking for a creative and unobtrusive London wedding photographer, you’ve come to the right place. Sitting right on the banks of the Thames in Greenwich, Trafalgar Tavern is one of London’s most characterful riverside wedding venues - historic, atmospheric and full of charm.
With its grand Georgian rooms, tall sash windows and incredible river views, the venue offers a beautiful setting for couples who want a wedding that feels both elegant and distinctly London. From the moment you step inside, there’s a sense of history and warmth that makes it a wonderful place to celebrate.
Trafalgar Tavern has been welcoming guests since the 1800s, and its history is woven into every part of the building. The venue sits directly on the Thames, with views stretching across the river and plenty of natural light pouring into the upstairs rooms - something that always works beautifully for photography.
The Nelson Room, where many ceremonies take place, is particularly striking. With its large windows overlooking the river and its classic Georgian detailing, it provides an elegant and atmospheric setting to exchange vows. After the ceremony, guests can enjoy drinks while watching the boats drift past on the Thames, giving the whole day a wonderfully relaxed feel.
Greenwich itself is also a fantastic location for wedding photography. Just a short walk away you’ll find cobbled streets, historic architecture and the wide open spaces of Greenwich Park - all perfect for a few relaxed portraits away from the crowd.
My approach to wedding photography is simple - to document the day naturally as it unfolds. Rather than staging moments or directing the day, I focus on quietly observing and capturing the real interactions, emotions and atmosphere that make your wedding unique.
At Trafalgar Tavern this approach works perfectly. From the morning preparations and ceremony through to drinks by the river and the evening celebrations upstairs, I’ll move unobtrusively through the day capturing moments as they happen - the laughter, the nerves, the hugs and everything in between.
The combination of riverside views, historic interiors and the lively atmosphere of Greenwich makes it a fantastic place for natural storytelling through photographs.
I photographed a wedding at Trafalgar Tavern recently, and it really showcased everything that makes this venue so special. The day began with preparations nearby before everyone gathered in the Nelson Room, where the ceremony took place with the Thames flowing past just outside the windows.
Afterwards, guests spilled out onto the terrace for drinks in the sunshine, enjoying the river views and the relaxed pace of the afternoon. We took a short wander along the riverside and through the nearby streets of Greenwich for a few portraits — simple, natural moments that captured the feeling of the day without taking too much time away from the celebrations.
As evening arrived, everyone headed back inside for dinner and speeches before the party began. With music playing and the room filled with laughter and dancing, it was one of those nights where the energy just kept building and nobody seemed ready to leave.
One of the things I love about Trafalgar Tavern is how it blends elegance with a laid-back riverside atmosphere. It can feel grand and historic during the ceremony, then effortlessly relaxed as guests gather outside with drinks and enjoy the river views.
The surrounding area also offers plenty of opportunities to make the day your own. You might wander down to the riverside for portraits, explore the nearby streets of Greenwich, or head into Greenwich Park for a few quiet moments together away from the crowd.
However you plan your day, Trafalgar Tavern provides a beautiful and characterful setting for a London wedding that feels timeless and personal.
If you’re looking for a Trafalgar Tavern wedding photographer who values genuine moments and natural storytelling, I’d love to hear from you. My aim is always to capture the atmosphere of the day - the people, the setting and the moments that make your wedding truly yours.
My style is all about capturing beautiful, unscripted moments. It’s something I’ve loved doing since I began my wedding photography business in 2010, and I get a tremendous buzz from creating distinctly unique imagery that is artistic and full of emotion. As your Trafalgar Tavern wedding photographer I would aim to photograph your day in exactly the same way.
