Where to begin with the DIY village fete wedding that seemed to have everything! Perhaps at the beginning, when I first spoke to Clive, who was keen to emphasise the part about the bouncy castle, the coconut shy, tin can alley, boules, table football, badminton, croquet…all this and there were only 5 or so kids coming!
So with a serious array of outdoor fun planned, I was pretty much glued to the weather report for the days leading up to the wedding. Bad news though – rain. And lots of it was forecast for the exact time the reception was supposed to begin.
And it did rain. Relentlessly. But then a moment happened – a warm glowing shadow fell upon the marquee and there was a loud call heard amongst the guests: “THE SUUUUUN!”
We ran outside and sure enough there was the sun, but also a pretty sensational rainbow which was just calling for Laura and Clive to stand under it. They did, I took some pictures, and it was beautiful. As was the whole day.
