Winter weddings in London are something special, and for couples on the hunt for a magical backdrop for their wedding day, the capital offers an array of enchanting venues. With over a decade of experience as a London wedding photographer, I’ve experienced some wonderful venues that are perfect for winter weddings, and in this blog, I’ll share nine that I’ve loved photographing in the most.

1. Claridge’s

Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge’s is an iconic five-star hotel that transforms into a winter wonderland when winter approaches. From the holiday decorations outside the venue, to the Christmas tree that greets guests upon arrival, Claridges really goes to town to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for your winter wedding. 3. The HAC

The Honourable Artillery Company, located in the heart of the city, offers a unique blend of historic grandeur and contemporary elegance. This exclusive venue provides a captivating backdrop for a winter wedding, with its impressive Armoury House and stunning gardens. The Long Room at Armoury House is a majestic space with high ceilings and historic charm, creating a sense of grandiosity. The venue’s extensive gardens, beautifully landscaped even in winter, offer a unique outdoor space for a magical winter ceremony or reception.

4. Islington Town Hall

If you’re dreaming of an urban chic wedding with a touch of history, Islington Town Hall is the perfect choice. I’ve photographed there many times over the years, at all times of the year as well, and a winter wedding has been just as captivating as a summer wedding, if not more so. The Council Chamber at Islington Town Hall is a beautiful and versatile space, featuring high ceilings, chandeliers, and elegant decor. Plus the town hall’s central location allows for easy access for guests, ensuring a seamless celebration in the heart of London. Islington Town Hall Wedding Photographer

If you’re seeking an extraordinary venue for your wedding in London, I highly recommend the Fitzrovia Chapel. This Grade II listed chapel, with its low-light ambiance and abundant Gothic character, offers a distinctive setting that is perfect for intimate, non-religious ceremonies. Say “I do” surrounded by the historical charm of this unique space, creating unforgettable moments for your special day. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, then you can do no wrong with the rustic charm of High Billinghurst Farm, which is nestled in the serene Surrey countryside. This venue offers a unique blend of historic charm and natural beauty, providing a beautiful setting for a winter wedding. In winter, the crackling fireplace becomes the focal point, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere for your ceremony and reception. 9. The Union Club

In the heart of London lies The Union Club, a fantastic choice for couples seeking a warm and intimate setting for their winter wedding. Housed within a Georgian townhouse in Soho, this private members’ club is adorned with flickering candles, plush furnishings, and quirky art pieces. However, arguably the main perk of hiring this unusual wedding venue is having the entire building exclusively yours for the day, and with the venue being in the heart of Soho - the party centre of London - you can party the night away without fear of annoying any neighbours! 10. Trafalgar Tavern

Set on the banks of the Thames in Greenwich, Trafalgar Tavern is a lovely choice for couples wanting a winter wedding with history, warmth and proper riverside atmosphere. This Grade II listed building is full of period character, with wooden floors, chandeliers, tall windows and private rooms looking out across the river. In winter, that combination works especially well - candles, dark evenings, boats passing on the Thames, and guests tucked inside with a view of the water just beyond the windows. It feels grand enough for a proper celebration, but still has the relaxed charm of a historic London pub, which makes it a great option for couples who want their wedding to feel elegant without being overly formal. Winter Wedding Venues in London

My style is all about capturing beautiful, unscripted moments at weddings that are big or small. It’s something I’ve loved doing since I began my London wedding photography business in 2010, and I get a tremendous buzz from creating distinctly unique imagery that is artistic and full of emotion, with each of these venues promising a magical celebration amidst the enchanting winter backdrop of the capital.
