As a destination wedding photographer, a wedding in Tuscany has been on my bucket list for a while. Who doesn’t want to photograph a wedding in a warmer climate, surrounded by stunning scenery, with incredibly lovely people? A part of me would love to do destination weddings every week, but the rarity of them does make them more special - and this was very much the case with Laura and Conor’s wedding at Borgo della Meliana.
I don’t really know what to touch on next to be honest. For me, this was one of those perfect weddings. The location - amazing. There’s something about the light in Tuscan homes, or maybe it’s the light from that part of the world, which gives the images a kind of renaissance feel. It really was a dream to work with.
The atmosphere - top notch. It was a small wedding, only about 40 guests in total (including the kids), so it was very personal, and very intimate, but everyone was on top form throughout, and they even managed to crank it up a notch (like so many weddings guests over the past year) once the sun went down.
Speaking of which, a big shout out to all the people I met, it really was a joy spending the day with them. And right from the moment I met them, Laura and Conor instantly made me feel like a part of the group, and they’re two people I very much hope to meet again.
So there we go, all in all a superb wedding day, and if I didn’t have to drive up and down a mountain to get back to my airbnb, I could’ve seen myself staying to the bitter end - whenever that may have been!
