Who said you can’t have good times at a micro wedding?! I think I’ll need to show Caragh and Garo’s Ham Yard Hotel wedding to any couple in the future who is worried that only having 30 guests would mean they couldn’t have as great a time in a small London wedding venue as one three times the size.
Now seeing as Garo is a massive Gooner I may be a little biased, but their wedding had so many moments I loved. For starters I love a Groom who wears his heart on his sleeve, and for that Garo has my utmost respect. And, in spite of cancelling their first date and being late for the re-arranged date (!!), he still managed to attract Caragh! That eventual first date took place at the Ham Yard Hotel, and was such a success it led them straight back there for their wedding day.
The ceremony was held in a delightfully cramped Armenian Orthodox church in west London, which meant I was a lot closer to the action than usual, resulting in a set of pictures I normally wouldn’t be able to get. To be honest I love these kind of unusual situations, as they force me to improvise and make use of the angles that are available to me at the time.
It was then off to the West End, and the Roof Terrace of the Ham Yard Hotel for the reception, where good times ensued. It was a relaxed affair, and in no way prepared me for the crazy moves I saw on the dance-floor later! The day ended, slightly unusually for me, with late night speeches, which happened to be a beautiful way to round an emotional day off.
