So here we are! Another year down. 15 in total, which blows my mind a bit. It’s been a real journey to get to this point, with ups and downs along the way, and plenty of lessons learnt. This year in particular the industry has shifted massively, and it did make me pause and rethink where I fitted within the new dynamic.
But, if the truth be told, I’m really thankful for that reflection, as it made me realise the answer was simpler than I’d made it out to be. I didn’t need to change anything - I needed to step away from the noise and remind myself why I picked up a camera in the first place.
I’ve always seen photography as a form of creative expression. Weddings just happen to be the place where that expression lives. My approach isn’t built on trends or formulas, but on paying close attention - to people, to moments, to whatever unfolds naturally. This year, I decided to lean into that fully. And in doing so, I felt a real sense of freedom, and a growing confidence in making work that felt true to who I am, not who I thought I needed to be.
As I head into 2026, I feel grounded in the work I’m making, and incredibly grateful for the couples who invite me in (and share the pictures!). I’m not trying to reinvent myself - I’m just focused on making honest, considered photographs that feel personal, now and in the years to come.
