Back garden wedding

I have photographed some wild wedding parties in my time, but Lucy and Richard’s might just be the wildest. The big surprise was that it came out of nowhere! It was a Hampshire countryside wedding, which began in genteel fashion in a lovely rented airbnb about a 20min drive from the church. The ceremony was a very pleasant affair (as far as I could tell from my distant vantage point given to me by the vicar), and the drinks reception was super civilised as everyone bathed in the summer sun in Richard’s parents back garden.

And then…

Fuelled by cask ales, scrumpy cider, an assortment of drinking games, and an impassioned set of speeches, the stage was set for the most epic of parties. Was it absolute carnage? Yes. Did everyone leave everything on the dancefloor? Most definitely. And that was in no small part thanks to the band - The Jukeboxes - who were absolutely brilliant throughout, and played an assortment of classic tracks to perfection. I must of had ‘Ace of Spades’ playing in my head for days afterwards!! This was such fun to photograph, and made me realise that in spite of my advancing years, I do still love a great wedding party.

Also fantastic to work with Luke Batchelor again, who’s not only a top guy, but also has some serious videography skills - highly recommend him if you’re on the hunt for someone!
