Where do I begin with this? I'm still in a total daze about it, which might have a lot to do with the celebratory tequila/sambuca shots that were endlessly flowing last night. To be named Best Wedding Photographer in London and the South East by the Wedding Industry Awards is one of the proudest moments in my wedding photography career, no question. Awards obviously aren’t (and shouldn't be) the basis for success - for me receiving messages like this are the real indicator of that - but still, receiving a highly regarded industry award, and one judged by my peers, is very special, and I hope this glow that I'm feeling now lasts me a while.
I don’t want to turn this into an Oscar's acceptance speech, but I do want to thank every couple who has ever booked me to photograph their wedding - putting your trust in me, right from the early days when I was a newb, has ultimately helped me to win this, and I’ll forever be indebted and thankful to you for that. Also a massive thank you to the couples from the past year who took time out of their day to vote and provide comments as to why I should win - thank you so, so much.
My best of the year will be coming soon, but I'll leave you with 20 images taken over the last few months which showcase what I strive for on a wedding day, and what I love about wedding photography.
Right, my couch is calling. Thanks for reading :)
