Low-Light Photography

Wedding Magazine ran a feature on low-light photography, and along with several other experts, I was asked my opinion on how to get the best images from such a challenging situation:

To ensure your photographs capture the ambient lighting, photographer Kristian Leven advises holding back on the flash, as this can wash out the atmosphere. “One of the great things about shooting in low light without using a flash is that people are less aware of having their picture taken which creates a truly intimate and natural set of images,” says Kristian. “I always prefer to push the camera’s technology and use lenses which are specialised for low-light photography so I can capture the mood in an authentic and realistic way.”
