National Geographic Traveller

The National Geographic Traveller magazine is something I’ve looked at for years for travel photography inspiration, so I was thrilled to see one of my images from my time spent travelling Bangladesh make it as a double-page for the July 2013 edition of the magazine.

Here’s the write-up:

Photographer Kristian Leven travelled for 18 days across Bangladesh, hoping to shine the spotlight on this breathtaking destination. “On one occasion, I happened upon this Islamic school, and being curious I walked in and made myself known to the teachers. They were happy for me to document the students who were all quite excited by my presence. This was one of the quieter moments and it seemed to highlight the conditions the students learn in – girls and boys on different sides of the classroom, and each classroom separated by well-worn pieces of plywood.”
