“Woman has nans as bridesmaids after Covid rules hit wedding”

I remember Megan telling me she was having her grandmas as bridesmaids at her twice-postponed, Covid-restricted wedding, and immediately thinking what a lovely idea it was.

On the day itself, what stayed with me most was how much joy it brought them - walking down the aisle with their granddaughter, right at the heart of it all.

I had no idea at the time that the story would travel quite as far as it did, eventually being picked up by the BBC and several other national outlets. At a time when weddings had become smaller, stranger and more uncertain, this felt like the kind of heart-warming story people really needed.
