Over the half-way mark for this year, and what a cracker it’s been. I’ve absolutely loved the diversity of weddings I’ve had, which has managed to keep things so fresh – one week a humanist wedding in the country, another a rooftop wedding in London! Kia and Dan’s wedding was another one of those I really couldn’t wait for, and all eyes were on the weather in the lead up to the day, hoping (praying!) for sunshine. Thankfully, our calls were answered.
Kia, who runs her own interior design company, knows a thing or two about style and setting, and she got it absolutely spot on with the venue – with the help of her dashing husband Dan of course! They managed to convince the owner of the Dalston Roof Park to play host to their reception, and kitted it out with pompoms, make-your-own lego party-favour figures, a Jenga guest book, and a retro candy bar which I may or may not have spent a lot of time around…
It was such a chilled out, relaxed day, which managed to turn the volume up to 11 when the evening party started – one I seriously wish I was a guest for!
And I can’t finish this post without mentioning what an absolute LEGEND Kia is for her choice of music as she walked down the aisle. There were some in attendance who had to ask what it was, but I knew from the first beat I was listening to the dulcet tones of the Star Wars Episode VII trailer music – from the picture buried somewhere in the post below, you can tell Dan did as well and what it meant to him. It must be love.
